Helen Sample

Helen Sample, 79, of Maple Street, Rouses Point, NY, passed away peacefully surround by her loving family on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
She was born on December 30, 1945, in Plattsburgh, NY, the daughter of Clarence and Mabel (Chenevert) LaBombard.
Helen worked on the production line at Delagar for many years. From there she would play many roles such as a wife, mother, Nana, friend, cook and babysitter which Helen exceled at all of them. It brought her great joy to share the goodies that she made especially her peanut butter fudge.
Helen married the love of her life, Ronald Sample Sr. on January 18, 1964, at Saint Patrick's Church in Rouses Point, NY.
Helen's family meant everything to her. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, talking with family and friends on the phone and having a cup of coffee or tea with anyone that stopped over to the house for a visit. Helen's home was always warm and welcoming. Helen was a gentle and compassionate person who will always be remembered for her love of family and close friends, including her friends Jane Mayo, Linda LaPorte, Sandy Seguin and Vi Castine.
Helen leaves behind several important people in her life. Her daughter Marcie (Lindsay) DeCoste of Mooers, NY, Donna Sample of Plattsburgh, NY; one sister Mary (Robert) Baker of Chazy; four brothers, William (Veronica) LaBombard of Champlain, NY, Richard (Joyce) Labombard of Lakeland, FL, Allen (Joanne) LaBombard of Bella Vista, AR and Marvin LaBombard of Rouses Point, NY; three sisters-in-laws, Barbara Labombard of Rouses Point, NY, Kathleen Dickinson of Mooers Forks, NY and Deborah LaBombard of Queensbury, NY; three grandsons, Kevin Sample of Rouses Point, NY, Dalton and Camden DeCoste both of Mooers, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded by her parents, husband, Ronald L Sample Sr., son, Ronald L Sample Jr., daughter, Tammy Sample; brothers Harold, Clarence Jr., Donald, Daniel and Robert; sister Betty LaForest; sister-in-laws, Valerie LaBombard, Geraldine Weldon, Ethel Sample, Jackie LaBombard and Shirley LaBombard; brother-in-laws, Claude Sample, Wright Sample Jr., Larry Sample, Roland LaForest, Roger Weldon and Doug Dickinson.
Helen's family would like to thank all their family and friends for their kind words, condolences, and prayers. Also, a special thank you to the nurse's Vanessa, Fatou, Patrick and Sam on R4 Progressive Care Unit at CVPH

I am at peace, my soul is at rest, there is no pain, I suffer not, for with your love I was so blessed. I am in a place of comfort; The fear now is gone. Put those things in your thoughts. In your memory I live on. Remember not my fight for breath, Remember not the strife, Please do not dwell upon my death, But celebrate my life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated May 10, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point, NY. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or The North Country Honor Flight.
