Helen Satulina Obituary

Helen Louise Satulina, beloved aunt, 98, of Latrobe, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, at Brookdale Senior Living in Latrobe. Born March 19, 1927, in Loyalhanna, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Priscilla (Mascher) Satulina. Helen is survived by nieces, Lynne (Satulina) Welshons and Colleen (Frichtel) Ryan, of Latrobe, Irene (Gretok) Stackiewicz of North Versailles, and Joy (Everhart) Zarbin of Glen Arm, Maryland; as well as more than 40 great-great-great, and great-great-great-nieces and nephews; and life-long friends. One of nine children, Helen was the "baby" of her family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Satulina; and sisters, Lena Gretok, Virginia Everhart, Ida Satulina, Daisalene Frichtel, and Blanche Satulina; and two infant sisters, Emma and Ida Satulina. She also was preceded in death by nieces, Dolores (Gretok) Brill, Thelma (Gretok) Comunale, Jean Gretok, and Frances (Gretok) Rizzo; and nephew, Joseph Frichtel. Before her retirement, Helen worked at Sleepy Hollow Restaurant and Pennsylvania Container Corporation. She will be most remembered for her humor, resilience, independent spirit, and loving support of those lucky enough to have known her. Services and interment at Unity Cemetery were private.
