Helen E. Schabot

Cremation and inurnment services will be held privately. Helen E. Schabot, 92, of Kingston died Sunday July 6, 2025 at the Ten Broeck Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lake Katrine. Born August 31, 1932 in Saugerties, a daughter of the late David and Evelyn (Horton) Scheffel. Helen enjoyed traveling, cruising, attending church, volunteering for RSVP, People's Place and the American Heart Association. She always enjoyed gathering with family and friends. She also enjoyed all the dogs in her neighborhood when they stopped by. Surviving are her children, Sandra Sabino and her husband Robert, Frederick Schabot Jr. and his wife Ilene; her sister-in-law, Barbara Scheffel; her grandchildren, Justin Sabino (Diane Yankel) and Adam Sabino. Nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frederick "Fritz" Schabot; her sisters and brothers, Marion Knapp, David Scheffel, Raymond Scheffel, Ruth Dachenhausen, William Scheffel and John Scheffel.
