Funeral Mass for Helen Dupuis Simon of Mansura will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Blake Deshautelle officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery in Mansura. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. with a rosary to be recited by the Ladies Altar Society at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
Helen D. Simon, age 98, passed away on Thursday, January 18., 2024 at the Hessmer Nursing Home. Helen was a devout Catholic, a member of the St. Paul’s Ladies Altar Society, and member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 320, but her proudest accomplishment was raising her eight children being a dedicated and loving wife and mother. She also helped her husband Charles to run the service station.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Charles Simon, Jr. of Plaquemine, Anthony Simon of Greenwell Springs, Karen S. Brulte of Mansura, Bruce Simon of Marshall, TX, Rae Ann Cash of Baton Rouge, and Robert Simon of Mansura. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Blaine Simon, Paul Simon, Dustin Brulte, Blake Cash, Todd Simon, and Brandon Simon. Honorary pallbearers: Terry Simon, Jeff Simon, Shane and Jason Brulte, and Tommy Simon II. Crossbearer will be Harper Riviere.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 78 years, Charles Simon; daughter, Kristye S. Grayson; son, Tommy Simon; parents, C.J. Dupuis, Sr. & Angelica Claudel Dupuis; grandson, Scott Simon; great-grandson, Hayden Simon; siblings, Ann D. Strange, C.J. Dupuis, Jr., and Ruth D. Turner; and a daughter-in-law, Virginia B. Simon.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Escude Funeral Home (318-964-2324) 6608 Porterie St. Mansura, LA 71350.
