It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Helen Sneed, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left us peacefully on May 4, 2025, in Jennings, LA, at the age of 97. Born on September 5, 1927, in Roanoke, LA, Helen lived a full and vibrant life.
Helen was a vibrant soul who filled her days with purpose and joy. A devoted Girl Scout leader, she cherished the impact she had on young girls in her community. Helen loved to travel with her husband, delighting in the adventures they shared. She had a sweet tooth, often indulging her love for treats, and took great pleasure in her faith, attending church regularly. Most importantly, Helen treasured the moments spent with her family, a circle that brought her immeasurable joy.
Helen leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories, survived by her sons Arthur Sneed, Jr., Jerry (Diane) Sneed, and Terry (Patty) Sneed; sister, Betty Ann Clement Norwood; daughter-in-law, Angela Istre Sneed; She was a proud grandmother to Jules Stanley, Tammy Fontenot, Jessica Olson, Jeremy Sneed, Patrick Sneed, Kevin Sneed, Wendy Greene, Joshua Sneed, Jacob Sneed, Christopher Sneed, Jonathan Sneed, and Rebecca Romney, seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Her grandchildren and their accomplishments brought her immense pride, and they will carry her spirit with them always.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Arthur Sneed, Sr., her parents Austin and Lucresie McCown Clement, son, David Sneed, and granddaughter, Leslie Bergeaux.
A funeral service will be held on May 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings. A public viewing will take place earlier that day, beginning at 9:30 AM. She will be laid to rest following the service in Greenwood Cemetery.
