Helen Louise (Forbes) Stephanson, age 98 of Columbus, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Wesley Glen. Helen was born on June 19, 1926 in Fort Collins, Colorado to the late Arthur and Helen (nee Griffin) Forbes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Marvin Stephanson. Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and C. David Gustafson of Washington, DC and by her son and daughter-in-law, E. Marvin and Ann Stephanson of Groveport, Ohio. She is also survived by her three grandsons Jonathan (Marissa), Matthew (Yuanhong Zhao), Colin (Megan Diamondstein) and by her only granddaughter Ann Marie and four great-grandchildren ranging in age from 2 to 11 and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was the last surviving sibling of her twelve brothers and sisters, including a half-brother from her father's prior marriage. Upon her graduation from The Ohio State University, Helen was a social worker with Franklin County Social Services. In retirement, she volunteered for over 30 years at Riverside Methodist Hospital. A graveside service will be held at a future date for her immediate family at Union Cemetery Mausoleum.
