In Loving Memory of Helen (Knetter) Stockheimer
March 22, 1939 – October 3, 2025
Helen Stockheimer, age 86, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, with her beloved family by her side. Born on March 22, 1939 to John and Martha (Brzezinski) Knetter. She attended Sacred Heart Parochial School in Cassel as well as Edgar High School. She was most proud of her education at Mid-State Technical College where she became certified as a nursing assistant.
On May 30, 1959, Helen married the love of her life, Joseph Stockheimer, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cassel, Wisc. Shortly after, they moved to Milwaukee, where they began their life together. After several years, they returned to Rozellville, Wisconsin and purchased the Stockheimer Family Farm, a place that they made their home. It was the heart of their social gatherings and family traditions. Together, they shared 51 beautiful years of marriage, raising a family, and building a legacy.
Helen devoted 47 years of her professional life to St. Joseph's Hospital, where she worked in the Birth Center. She was deeply proud of her role in welcoming new life into the world and took immense pride in her work. After retiring, Helen continued her caregiving journey, offering support to various families with their needed services, always with compassion.
Helen's zest for life was evident in her love for vacations with the girls, out-of-state trips with her husband, Joseph, casino trips with her dear friend, Richard Kraus, and her joyful presence at any gathering. If there was a party, Helen was there. She had a deep love for polka music and dancing. Helen lived a life defined by enjoying every day to the fullest. She often reminded those around her, "Put it in the hands of the Lord," a phrase that reflected her enduring faith. Her laughter and strength will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children: Richard (Barbara) Stockheimer of Green Bay and Vickie (Michael) Maguire of Marshfield; grandchildren: Cole (Anika) Stockheimer, Andy Stockheimer, Chloe (Jake) Crocco, Phillip (Katlynne) Maguire, Paul (McKayla) Maguire, and Grace (Adam Potts) Maguire; and great-grandchildren: Darcy and Max Stockheimer, as well as Lena and Dominic Crocco.
Helen is further survived by her siblings: Darlene Regele, Patricia (George) Weber, Carole Knetter, Emily Kaiser, and Myron (Carol) Knetter; sisters-in-law: Cindy and Beckie Knetter as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her parents, Martha and John Knetter; her brothers, Alvin, David and Glen Knetter; sister, Violet Stockheimer; and brothers-in-law, Anthony Stockheimer and Dennis Kaiser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield with Rev. Daniel Thelen officiating. Committal services will be held privately by family at a later date. Family and friends are invited to the church on Saturday for a time of visitation from 9 AM until time of service. The honor of pallbearer belongs to her grandsons, Cole Stockheimer, Andy Stockheimer, Phillip Maguire, and Paul Maguire. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Chloe Crocco and Grace Maguire.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Wells Nature View and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care.
