Fountain City native and proud member of Clear Springs Baptist Church, Beth entered the arms of her Savior on Friday May 23,2025 after a life spent serving others with unwavering love and strength. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a faithful servant of God-known to all as "Nanny Beth."
Beth's life was a testimony of God's grace. Her heart overflowed with compassion, and everyone who met her felt the warmth of her care. She was a mighty woman of faith, always ready to share the love of Jesus, and she lived each day as a mission field-spreading kindness, encouragement, and the gospel. Her testimony is not just in the family she built, but in the countless lives she touched through her generosity and unwavering spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Stella Houghton, and now joins them in eternal peace.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mark Swaggerty; her children, Bobbie Suarez (RJ), Jake Hawkins (Jenn); and her bonus son, Cody Swaggerty (Amber). She was the cherished nanny of Braylon Young, Amalee Hawkins, Michaela Lee, Haley Lee, Gavin Hawkins, Hayden McClain, Bryson McClain, Peyton Hawkins; and great-grandson Asher Swaggerty-all of whom loved their Nanny Beth. She was the heartbeat of her family and the rock they leaned on.
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." – Matthew 28:19–20 Beth didn't just read the Word-she lived it. Now, we carry her legacy forward, telling the world about Jesus, just as she did.
The family will receive friends at Clear Springs Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Justin Pratt officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 10:45 AM on Wednesday at Eastview Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 AM graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Special Growers, a program close to Beth's heart that empowers individuals with disabilities through meaningful employment and community involvement.
