Mrs. Helen Katrina Swinson

Katrina "Cookie" Elledge Swinson, age 82 was born January 25, 1943 in Wilkes County, NC. She died on November 3, 2025 in Atrium Health Hospice Monroe, NC of natural causes. She was the daughter of James Paul and Helen Wood Elledge of Wilkes County. She married J. L. Swinson, from Salisbury, NC, on May 3rd, 1968.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, J. L. Swinson; four daughters and one son: Wendy Swinson Weston (Glenn Weston) of Boomer, NC, Angala Swinson Macy of Monroe, NC, Cindy Swinson Dunn (Scott Dunn) of The Villages, FL, Kimberly Swinson Severt (Greg Currie) of Tuscaloosa, AL and Paul Lee Swinson of Monroe, NC; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, sisters, Molly Ann Dunn and JoRhetta Cash, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her sister, Amanda Jane Elledge Smith, and grandson, Noah Elledge Severt.
A celebration of life memorial will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations to Atrium Health Hospice and Palliative Care Union at atriumhealthfoundation.org.
