East Wakefield NH- Helen Anna (Moore) Veno passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a 25 year battle with breast cancer.

She was born December 2nd, 1944 in Columbia, PA, the daughter of John Moore and Anna (Hubley) Moore and the youngest of seven children.

Helen graduated from Penn Manor High School and went on to establish a long career in retail. This career brought her to New Hampshire in 1978, reaching a high level of management at Kmart. She then went on to a stellar career at Walmart. Her merchandising skills were unparalleled and she again achieved high levels of management, receiving many honors and awards for her dedication and hard work.

Helen met her future husband, Kim, in 1984 and they married on Valentine’s Day, 1987. Together they enjoyed Mount Washington dinner cruises, trips to the casino, and visiting her Pennsylvania family.

Helen greatly enjoyed attending family gatherings and was known for bringing a plethora of her homemade specialties, including her “famous” spaghetti salad and decadent stuffing.

She loved animals and adored her dogs (especially her new Shih-tzu puppy, Bo), cherishing them as her faithful companions. She also was partial to farm animals dating back to her childhood of having a pet goat.

Helen loved children and she was particularly fond of her New Hampshire nieces and nephews including her Godchild, Fairlee (Anderson) Gelinas, her niece Laine (Anderson) Larson, her nephews, Brett and Derek Veno, plus her great-nieces and great-nephew Hadley, Hazel and Henry Larson. She attended all of their many celebrations, milestones, and achievements including baptisms, birthdays, sports events, plays, recitals, graduations and weddings.

She was also very fond of her Pennsylvania family including sister-in-law Betty Moore, Kenneth Moore, Jr., Ellen Moore, Robert (Buck) Ott, and niece Mary Moore.

Helen also cherished and appreciated her dear friends, MaryEllen and Tom Landers of Rochester, NH.

She was pre-deceased by her mother and father; her siblings: brothers Robert, George, Kenneth, Charles, Donald, and sister Edith; her father-in-law, Arthur Veno and her mother-in-law, Lillian Veno.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Kim R. Veno of East Wakefield, NH; brother-in-law David Veno and his wife, Gina, of Rochester, NH, sister-in-law, Maryann (Veno) Anderson and her husband, Richard, of Sanbornville, NH, sister-in-law, Betty Moore of Columbia, PA plus many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the Wakefield EMT Fire and Rescue team for their professionalism, patience, great care and empathy with assisting Helen during her prolonged illness.
