Wayne Colby, a lifelong resident of Gonic, NH passed away after a period of declining health on March 11, 2026. He was born on November 21, 1946, to George and Elizabeth Colby.
Wayne graduated from Spaulding High School and then enlisted in the Marine Corps where he served with honor. Wayne was a Vietnam Veteran and proudly flew the Marine Corp flag at his home. Wayne spent 60 Years in the construction industry building homes, working as a construction superintendent, and doing many remodeling projects.
Wayne loved being outdoors for both work and fun. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and looked forward to his annual bird hunting trips up north. Wayne also enjoyed communing with friends. Everyone was welcome at his home, and many Saturday afternoons were spent sitting at his picnic table with friends just stopping by for a beer. He was a member at the Victory Club where he spent time catching up with friends. His ability to bring people together and have a good laugh will be sadly missed. Being around Wayne was never boring as many have enjoyed his Waynism’s.
