With heavy hearts, the family of Timothy Stanley Ducharme announces his passing on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the University of Florida Health Cardiology and Vascular Hospital in
Gainesville, Florida. Tim's courageous pursuit of a lung transplant stood as testament to his strength, perseverance, and quiet determination. He came so very close. Tim passed peacefully with his life partner of 16 years, Rebecca Byron, and family by his side.
Born in
Rochester, New Hampshire, Tim was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Jean Ducharme, and brothers Thomas and Jay Ducharme. He is survived by his daughter, Holly Gosselin (NH); his sisters Gail Arndt (NH/FL) and Cheryl Patch (Glenn) (ME); and his brother Steven Ducharme (NH).
Tim held a very special place in his heart for his Florida family-Chris (Samantha) Addington, Joe (Trish) Kelly, and Katie (Keith) Palmeter. He loved being a grandfather and was "Papa" to Makayla and Logan (NH), and "Grandpa Tim" to Matthew, Braelyn, Lindyn, Joseph, and Jacoby (FL).
After graduating from Spaulding High School, where he excelled in baseball with his father-known on the field as "Bud"-as his coach, Tim followed in his father's footsteps straight into the trucking industry before the ink on his diploma had dried!
Tim spent more than 20 years as a long-distance owner-operator and was extremely proud of his awards as a 5,000,000-mile accident-free driver. He is fondly remembered by his driving team for never hesitating to be the first to stop and help a fellow trucker along the way. In 2010, Tim hung up his keys and retired to
Melbourne, Florida.
A true New Englander at heart, Tim was an avid hunter and hiker who cherished the trails of the Great North Woods and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. In the winter months, you could find him snowmobiling, ice fishing, and skiing-activities he loved so much that he served on Ski Patrol. While he always looked forward to returning north for hunting seasons, it was fly fishing on Bog Brook with his close friend Tarz where Tim felt most at home. Many still treasure the hand-tied fishing lures he made and gifted with pride. Tim enjoyed restoring antique cars and mud racing and no one enjoyed a butter-soaked lobster or savoring a bucket of steamers quite like Tim!
Tim made many dear friends in Melbourne, and he cherished the time spent fishing with Rick, walking the beach with Rebecca, and sharing great times with all. He was always ready to lend a helping hand-any time, any place. So many will remember Tim simply as "such a nice guy."
Tim, may you rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the light and love you so freely gave in life.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Tim at 10:00am, on Monday, February 16th, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1626 Oak St,
Melbourne, FL. A Celebration of Life reception immediately following at Hemingway's One Oak room, 1800 W. Hibiscus Blvd, Suite 108, Melbourne FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to UF Health Adult Lung Transplant Patient Care Fund #024191, in memory of Tim Ducharme, P O Box 100243,
