Born in Stamford, CT on October 29,1929, Helen was the daughter of the late Steven and Maria Nicoletos. She was a devoted wife and an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was the heart of her family whose greatest joy was being surrounded by those she loved. Helen found happiness in life's simplest moments of family gatherings, cooking and baking her traditional favorite Greek recipes for holidays and celebrations, vacations in Wildwood, NJ, and watching her grandchildren and great-grand babies grow. She never missed a milestone and was always there to celebrate every accomplishment, big or small. Helen was an avid Dallas Cowboy, NY Yankee, and UCONN Women fan, rarely missing a game and always cheering passionately for her teams.
For nearly 48 years, Helen worked for the law firm Wofsey, Rosen, Kweskin, and Kuriansky in Stamford, CT. Her dedication and work ethic earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike. She retired at the age of 83 to spend more precious time with her family.
Helen's Greek Orthodox faith and her deep connection to her Greek heritage shaped the values she passed on to all who knew and loved her. Her determination, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family forever, a lasting reminder of the beautiful life she led and the countless lives she touched.
Helen is survived by her loving children, Barbara Calorossi and her husband, James Calorossi, of
Norwalk, CT, and John "Jav" Vento and his wife, Antoinette "Toni" Vento, of Guilford, CT. She was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Nicole Cirifalco (Luigi) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Jaime Coleman (Leonard Jr.) of Fairfield, CT, Michael Vento (Toni) of Matthews, NC, and Erica Janosko (Jason) of Guilford, CT. Her greatest joy came from being "Yia Yia" to her nine beloved great-grandchildren, James Cirifalco, LJ Coleman, Joseph Cirifalco, Lucas Coleman, Lucia Cirifalco, Jacob Janosko, Aliana Janosko, Juliet Vento, and Evander Vento. Helen also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever cherish her memory.
