Funeral Services for Helen Whitfield Patch, 94, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Picayune Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 2:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, service time, at McDonald Funeral Home.
Rev. Dan Young will officiate the services.
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
A native of Picayune, she worked for the U.S. Post Office from 1965 to 1987. Helen was an active member of Roseland Park Baptist Church. She loved to sew and was a talented seamstress who regularly made clothing and other items for donation to the local women's and children's shelters. Helen was a member of the Loving Stitchers Sewing Group and The Eastern Star. She loved to read, shop, travel, cook, bake, and spend time with her friends and family. Helen will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John E. Patch; her son, Daniel L. Patch; her sisters, Betty Stuart and Jeanette Scott; and her parents, Dallas Whitfield, Sr. and Gladys Frierson Whitfield.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Judy Patch Rouse of Gulfport, MS; her son-in-law, Michael L. Rouse of Gulfport, MS; her daughter-in-law, Linda Patch of Picayune, MS; her brother, Dallas (Lida) Whitfield, Jr. of Pascagoula, MS; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
