Very much a man of his times: he served in WWll; he got married and had a family - he worked to care for them. Found love late in life and was true to the end. I don't believe he ever purposely hurt anyone; indeed, rarely even had a harsh word for anyone. Marched, often with a smile, to the beat of a drummer only he could hear.
