Obituary

Henrietta (Henny) Harris, a beloved mother, grandmother and sister, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, February 16, 2026. She was born on May 14, 1939 in Crisfield, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Beatrice Harris and Robert (Bob) Waters.

Henrietta's early education was in Crisfield, Maryland and she later finished school in Port Norris, New Jersey. She returned to Maryland and was a master crab picker for thirty (30) plus years at Island Seafood in Deal Island, Maryland. She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Deal Island, Maryland.

Henrietta was an very extraordinary grandmother who spent most of her life raising and caring for each generation. She loved to cook and watch TV, especially "In The Heat of The Night." She also loved her plants. She spent her weekends going out to "do her dealings" as she called it, with her daughters.

She loved and cherished every moment and memory with all her grands, but she had a very special bond with her great granddaughter, Aaliyah Burton. They often spent their evenings watching Rachel the Cooking show together and having a good laugh and a bite to eat.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her three daughters, Kanya Bivens, Teresa Bivens (Tony), Jeanne Bivens; and her 10 grandchildren, Iania Bivens-Elliott (DiShawn), Travis Green, Jason Green, Lamar Jones, Winter Green, Calvin Jones, Toni Banks, Keania Wills (Reginald), Anthony Banks, Jr. and Kayla Banks; 24 great-grands and 4 great great-grands; two sisters, Beatrice Hayes and Edith Harris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers, James, Richard and Lloyd Harris and her sister, Gertrude Harris.

Henrietta's memory will live on in the hearts of all her loved ones and she will continue to be remembered for her caring spirit and the love for her family.
