Henrietta Casanova Vesper, beloved by many, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, at the age of 90. Born in San Antonio, TX, on April 2, 1934, Henrietta was proud of her Hispanic heritage and cherished her roots throughout her life. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness, her infectious laughter, and her deep love for her family.
Henrietta was the devoted wife of the late Richard J. Vesper and is survived by her son, Joseph Vesper, and his wife, Alice; her grandsons, Joseph and Benjamin; and countless nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who will deeply miss her vibrant spirit. She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Esther Tijerina, Simon Casanova, Maria Jesus Casanova, Otilia Hernandez, Bea Santos, and Robert Casanova.
Throughout her life, Henrietta found joy in the simple pleasures. She enjoyed playing Bingo, spending time coloring, and was known for her beautiful handmade jewelry and shoes, which she crafted with love during her years as a jewelry maker at Superior Jewelry. A true homemaker at heart, she created unforgettable holiday meals that brought her family together. She was a devoted Catholic and found comfort in the songs of her youth, including the classics from the 30s, often humming along to "Que Sera, Sera" by Doris Day.
Henrietta was a lover of nature, especially hummingbirds, which she delighted in watching as they visited her feeders. She cherished her time with her grandsons, taking them on adventures and sharing in the joy of their laughter. Henrietta's warmth and love for dogs added to her vibrant personality that touched everyone she met.
To honor Henrietta's life, a funeral service will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, January 2, 2025, beginning with a visitation at 4:00 PM, and the service at 5:00 PM. Following her wishes, Henrietta will be cremated. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating her life and sharing cherished memories.
As we gather to remember Henrietta, we will reflect on her legacy of love, resilience, and joy, cherishing the moments that shaped her beautiful life. She will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

We called her Aunt Keta. She was a kind and caring Aunt to all of us. She loved children and was always cooking and baking things for us. She and Uncle Red were our only Aunt and Uncle who were local and we were very close to them. She loved her son, Joe and her grandsons, Joey and Ben more than anything in this world! She will be greatly missed by many, but find peace knowing that she is now resting in the arms of Our Lord. We pray for peace and comfort for Joe, Alice, Joey and Ben.
