Henrita Drummond Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Inc. - Greer on Feb. 11, 2026.
Steadfast, faithful, and unwavering describe the life of Henrietta Wright Drummond. She was a living testimony of endurance, compassion, and victorious faith.

Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on November 17,1940 to the late Heron and Veola Wright she was the eldest of three girls. She learned early in life the importance of service to God and man.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday February 3, 2026, after having fought the good fight of faith, she finished her course. She peacefully fell asleep in the Lord to await His imminent return.

Henrietta was a faith-filled, Spirit led woman who loved the Lord and lived her life in service to others. A devoted Christian, she embodied perseverance, compassion, and unwavering trust in God. She never gave up, was always there for those in need, and walked her life's journey with quiet strength and grace. She was a cherished mother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a blessing to all who knew her-a pillar of strength and grace to her family and community.

From her early days as a child, she always wanted to be a nurse. Henrietta spent her life serving others as a nurse, living out her faith through acts of love and care. Nursing was more than a career-it was her ministry. She followed Christ's example, believing deeply in the
words of Scripture:
"Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25:40)

Her faith was central to her life. She was actively involved in the SDA church for many years, where she worshiped faithfully, served willingly, and found strength in fellowship. She trusted God in all seasons and held firmly to His promises. Family was one of God's greatest gifts to her. She loved and cherished her family deeply, with a special and tender devotion to her adult children, sisters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. Her love for them reflected the heart of Christ-patient, joyful, and unconditional.

In her personal time, she found joy in God's creation through traveling and gardening, and she delighted
in cooking meals filled with many flavors, always meant to be shared. Her home was a place of warmth,
nourishment, laughter, and love filled with butterflies and fresh fragrances.

Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the hope of eternal life, confident in God's Word:
"Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord." (Matthew 25:21)

Her legacy of faith, service, and love will continue through the generations she leaves behind, until that glorious day when we are reunited again in Christ.

She leaves a legacy of four adult children, Jimmie Jr. and Jean, eldest son and wife; Michael and Shelia, middle son and wife; Marie Hersey, daughter; Edwin and Angela, youngest son and wife; Grandchildren Anthony, Erika (Brian), Christina (Brandon) Jimmie III (Michelle), Briana, Justin (Chelsea), Stephen (Karalee), Cianne, Lexie, Eddie II (Anastasia), Devon and Sophia; Great Grandchildren Tyson, Ava, Christopher Jr, Nia, Snow, Azariah, Tirzah, Journie; Sisters Carolyn Butler and Jean Cotton with loved brothers-in-law James (Ed) Butler and Wyatt Cotton, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a sister in-law and many, many friends and church associates.

Henrietta's life with continue to reflect God's forgiveness and faithfulness through her family and friends.

Henrietta's life will be celebrated Thursday, February 12, 2026, 1:00-3:00pm Seabrook SDA Church 8900 Good Luck Road, Lanham, MD 20706.

Her service in South Carolina will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Chapel starting with a family greet at 11:00 AM followed by her service and burial.
