Henry Elvin Braud, 80, passed away on January 23, 2025, in Shreveport, LA, following a successful deer hunting season.
Born in 1944 to Samuel and Edna Braud in Shreveport, LA, Henry was the youngest of four children. He graduated from Fair Park High School in 1962 and continued his education at a technical college. In 1964, Henry began his career at Wray Ford, where he later retired in 2017, after more than 50 years in the automotive service industry.
In 1969, Henry married the love of his life, Edith Ann Stewart. His first love, a 1964 Corvair, was devastated. In 1974, they welcomed their son, Alan, who became Henry’s hunting and fishing companion. In 1980, their family grew with the birth of their daughter, Ashley, who quickly became the apple of her father's eye.
Henry had a passion for hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and travel. His willingness to help others in his community earned him countless friends throughout his life.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Edith Braud of Bossier City, LA; his son, Alan (Michelle) Braud of Mabank, TX; his daughter, Ashley (Kevin) Stewart of Covington, LA; seven grandchildren; his brother, Richard Braud of Hayesville, NC; his mother-in-law, Ruey Stewart of Chestnut, LA; and a host of loving relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Edna Braud; his brother, Pete Braud; his sister, Louise Bentzler; and his father-in-law, Melvin Stewart.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Rose-Neath Southside in Shreveport, LA. Funeral services honoring the life of Henry will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the funeral home, followed by interment at 3:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove, LA. Officiating will be Bro. Kevin Arinder of Liberty Baptist Church, Shreveport, LA.
