Cousin Henry was the first person to welcome me in New York & one of the greatest characters of my life. I just found out that we have lost him & send hugs of gratitude to his family. Your guy was "a piece of work!" - (from Norma Sue Wolfe of Staten Island, New York)

I remember when Henry came to our house in Richmond, Virginia with his Mother, Stella Clayman, when I was a young girl. He had arrived in the USA to study. . . .The next time I saw him, he was living in Florida & was practicing as an Eye Surgeon. I think he did the Eye Surgery for my two Aunties, Sadie & Anne. Years later, he showed up at their house in Florida for Passover, & I think we also met him & his Son-in-Law for Brunch one day, in Del Ray. He always struck me as a very outgoing & friendly man, rather brilliant, & I'm sorry we didn't get to see him more often than that. He was a tall man who reminded me a lot of my Dad.- - They were Cousins! We live so far away from family members now, it's hard to keep in touch. I'm sending sincere condolences from our entire group out here in the Southwestern USA, to his family. I'm sad we have to communicate on such a sad occasion, but I will keep good memories of meeting our Cousin Henry and spending time with him. My email is [email protected]. The one below does not work!

My name is Jennifer, and I am honored to be a former caregiver to Henry. My condolences to his wife, Sylvana and all his family members. He was such a gentle, polite man who treated me with such respect. Here´s a quote that hopefully will help through these times: "Those we LOVE don´t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard but always near, still LOVED, still MISSED and forever DEAR

An amazing person who honored me with his trust as a patient and ultimately, a friend. Will always remember our conversations about the English language and his caring concern about my son´s health during difficult times. My deepest condolences to the family.

As a beneficiary of his invention, the intraocular lens implant, I spoke of Dr. Clayman at BASCOM PALMER EYE INSTITUTE with gratitude.
My family and I will say a prayer soon at his grave at LAKESIDE MEMORIAL PARK.
I will think of him next time I hear the singing of HATIKVAH, the national anthem of ERETZYISRAELUNDIVIDED.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Henry Clayman, whose accomplishments both professionally and personally were significant and meaningful. In addition to the history provided, Henry is also remembered for his boundless sense of humor. On many occasions, he would share a joke or humorous observation to make his point of view more meaningful and memorable. Our sympathies go out to his wonderful family whom he loved and treasured.
