Kit proudly served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Thailand, in support of the Vietnam War in the late 60's. After completing his military service, Kit went on to be a Process Operator, and retire at the Goodyear plant in Beaumont.
Survivors include his loving wife, Anna Copeland; children, Todd Savoy and his wife, Becky, of Kountze; and Shelly Adcock of Sulphur, Louisiana; grandchildren, Gina Scott and her husband, Danny, of Tomball; Amy Adcock and John Adcock, both of Sulphur, Louisiana; and Baylee Savoy of Beaumont; great-grandchild, Tristan Scott; siblings, Ercel Wayne King of Toledo Bend; Sue West and her husband, Randy, of Hardin; Billie Jean Stephens of Dayton. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Copeland and Donald Copeland.
A gathering of Kit's family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Broussard's, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. His interment will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Kountze.
