Henry DeVault Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeFiore Funeral & Cremation Service on Feb. 25, 2024.
Henry D. DeVault, 15, of Algonquin, died peacefully and surrounded by
his family on February 20, 2024 due to complications from an infection.
Henry was born November 20, 2008, the son of Justin and Margaret
DeVault. Henry had many special needs, including blindness and other
delays. But he loved life and was always positive. He was a very happy,
affectionate, and loving boy. He loved listening to Dora the Explorer,
and enjoyed when his mom and dad would read his favorite books to
him and make up stories.
He was currently in eighth grade at Dundee Middle School. He had a
service dog, Banjo, who was always by his side. Henry was a loving son,
brother, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend who will be missed by all
who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Justin and Margaret DeVault, his sisters,
Alice, and Hazel. He is survived by his grandparents, Joan Curio, Pamela
Carlson, and David DeVault and by his aunts and uncles, Tara (Terry)
Stowe, Meredith (Gabe) Hunsicker and John (Amelia) Curio, and his
loving cousins Caleb, Gavin, and Addison. Henry was preceded in death
by his Grandpa Roger Curio.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the countless
people who helped care for Henry, including caregivers, doctors,
teachers and therapists. Especially his current nanny, Ally Schebel, and
his school paraprofessional, Monica Capocasa.
Henry was a special boy who touched many people. Although he faced
challenges in his life, he was always such a happy, silly soul and he
spread joy to everyone he met.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Light of
Christ Church 1700 Longmeadow Pkwy, Algonquin, IL 60102. Visitation
from 2pm to 4pm with service at 4:00pm followed by food until
6:00pm.
