Henry Dominguez Obituary

Our dad, Henry Dominguez Jr., went to be with his Lord on August 19, 2025. Visitation will be from 9am to 9pm on Sunday, August 24, 2025, with family receiving friends from 5pm-7pm at Myers and Smith Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10am on Monday, August 25th, 2025, at Myers and Smith Chapel. Burial with military honors will be at Trinity Memorial Park.
Our dad was born to his loving parents Maria and Enrique Dominguez Sr. on October 14, 1946, in Edroy, TX. Dad grew up in Odessa, TX where he graduated from Ector County High School in 1966. The same year he was drafted into the U.S. Army. His basic training was in Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX. After basic training, dad was sent to Fort Ord in California and trained as a Lineman in Telephone Communications. He continued his training at Fort Gordon in Georgia. He was deployed to South Korea and returned home after 14 months. He was Honorably Discharged from the Army on September 11, 1968, as a Specialist 4th Class Lineman.
Dad married our mom on a sunny and brisk Saturday afternoon on December 13, 1969, in Odessa, Tx at 2pm.
Our dad, who was affectionately known as "Howie" leaves his wife of fifty-five years Leonor Dominguez, one son Michael Henry Dominguez and his wife Gwen, two daughters Amy Miramontes and her husband Isaac, and Kimberly Huff and her husband Bryan. He also leaves behind his "grandbabies" Nolan, Sophie, Jason, Joshua, Kelby, Charlie, Camden and Sam and one great grandbaby on the way. He also leaves behind two sisters Sulema Lujan and Gloria Mancha and two brothers Adolfo Dominguez and Eugene Dominguez as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and one daughter-in law.
Howie had many friends and was kind and respectful to everyone he knew and met. He was most proud of his grandbabies and always wanted to know where they were, how they were and what they were doing. He will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed by all of us. We will miss you Howie. Sleep with the Angels. We love you very much.
Pallbearers are Nolan Dominguez, Jason Miramontes, Sophie Dominguez, Joshua Miramontes, Kelby Olivarez, and Charlie Huff. Honorary Pallbearers are Camden Dominguez and Samuel Huff.
A special thanks to MD Anderson, Dr. Tannir, Dr. Tatusi and their teams. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Chae, Dr. Bashir and their teams for taking care of our Howie.
Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Pay your respects online at www.myersandsmith.com
