Henry Elliott Gatehouse, Jr. (81) of Decatur, Georgia passed away May 9, 2025. An Atlanta native, Elliott was a devoted Brother, Husband, Father, and Grandfather. Mr. Gatehouse attended the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. He had a long career in the Textile industry, that took him all over the United States as well as visits to Asia. Elliott was an Eagle Scout and loved all things outdoors. This love led to many hobbies and activities. Elliott enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, boating, cars and motorcycles. Above all, he loved being a grandfather and cherished the moments with his grandson. Elliott truly loved his family and will be missed forever. Elliott was predeceased by his wife Barbara Banks Gatehouse. Survivors include his daughter Lisa Michelle Gatehouse; son and former daughter-in-law, H. Elliott Gatehouse, III and Susan; grandson, Connor Banks Gatehouse; sister Claudia Burningham of Fernandina Beach, Florida. To honor our father’s wishes, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
