Henry Grissett Obituary
Henry ‘Steve’ Grissett, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at his home on Thursday, February 8, 2024, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Green Hills Funeral Home with Kendall Allen and Enhabit Hospice Chaplain Darrell Bates officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm. His burial will follow the service at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery with DJ Powell, Daniel Powell, Blake Powell, Robby Cotton, Taylor Stephens and Cody Sasser serving as pallbearers. Current and past employees of the Alabama Department of Transportation District 5 will serve as honorary pallbearers.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Kaye Grissett; his daughters, Lynn Powell (Doug), Jodi Grissett (Rick Buckner); grandchildren, DJ Powell (Anna), Daniel Powell (Shelby), Blake Powell (Whitney); great grandchildren, Emma Kay Powell, Amelia Portwood, Brystol Powell, Blakeleigh Powell, Blaze Powell, MJ Powell; sisters, Betty Peddycoart (Gary), Janie Davey (Jeff), special nephew, Jim Lott (Maria) and great niece Brandy Lott. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Grissett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
