Henry Dennis Hand, born February 4, 1936, in Tifton, GA, to Henry and Ethel Hand, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion and will be rejoicing once again with his beloved wife, Gladys.
Dennis was a hardworking and dedicated individual, spending many years employed by Occidental Chemical in White Springs, FL, where he worked as a heavy equipment mechanic before his retirement. He was a proud member of the Masons, where he found fellowship and purpose. When not working or involved with the Masons, Dennis enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: hunting, fishing, camping, and working on the family farm alongside his loved ones.
Henry is survived by his sons, Harry Stewart of Jasper, FL, Robert Hand of Lakeland, GA, and Thomas Hand (Dana) of Jennings, FL, as well as his daughter, Tammy Hand Bain (Kenneth) of Jasper. He was a cherished grandfather to 18 grandchildren and had the joy of knowing many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Henry is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Hand, his son, Jerry Stewart, his daughter, Sonja Hand, his sister, MaryAnn York, and his brothers, George Hand and Louis Hand.
A graveside service honoring Dennis's life will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Home (VFW) in Jasper, from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. preceding the service.
Henry's legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will live on through the many lives he touched.
