Henry James Brown, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at home, September 30, 2025 surrounded by his family, after a life marked by faith, service, and love. Born December 16, 1941, in Oakland, California, Henry was a devoted son, brother, and twin. Raised in a warm and close-knit family, Henry learned early the values of kindness, loyalty, and hard work.

After joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at age 26, he served a stake mission in Oakland, California. Henry's life expanded with new friendships, service, and faith. While living in Oakland and active in his local congregation, Henry met Marilyn, who became the love of his life. They married in 1971 in the Oakland California LDS Temple. Together they built a loving family, raising eight children—two sons and six daughters—whose achievements brought Henry immeasurable joy.

Henry’s professional career with Eric F. Anderson, Inc. spanned 33 years, where he rose from junior accountant to Senior Vice-President and CFO, earning respect for his integrity, and leadership. In retirement, he and Marilyn moved to Utah, continuing their service and supporting their loved ones.

Henry’s family was the center of his life. He cherished his children and delighted in his grandchildren. His love, laughter, and wisdom filled family gatherings. Henry’s faith sustained and inspired him, and he was a source of compassion and guidance to his family and church community.

Henry enjoyed serving in multiple bishoprics and high councils but among his favorite callings were serving with the students at Utah State University, cooking for girls camp for sixteen years, and the three year service mission he and Marilyn served together on Temple Square.

Henry is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, their children Danny, Amye (Jared Kay), Julie (Jason Steenblik), Jodi (Kyle Black), Katie (Andy Petersen), David (Christina), Jennifer (Eric Bingham), and Megan (Colton McLachlan), and twenty-five grandchildren, with a great-grandson on the way. He is survived by his twin brother, Harold Brown, numerous nieces and nephews, and he was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Milam Brown, his mother, Blythe Theresa Shaw and his sister Myrna.

Henry leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, humor, strength, and enduring love—a legacy that will continue to bless all who knew him. His motto in life, frequently expressed to his children, was “Just be kind.”

Funeral services will be on Monday, October 6, 2025 at the LDS South Jordan 4th Ward, 2556 West 9800 South, South Jordan, UT. There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:30 am, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. The Graveside Service will be at 2:30 pm at the Providence Cemetery, 925 River Heights Blvd, River Heights, UT 84321.
