Henry Pearmon "Pete" Holland, Jr., age 90, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, in Douglasville, Georgia. Born on September 19, 1935, in Atlanta, Georgia, Pete lived a long and fulfilling life marked by service, humor, and love.

A 1953 graduate of Brown High School in Atlanta, Pete proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army's 11th Airborne Division from 1954 to 1957. He completed jump school at Fort Campbell, KY and during his service, was stationed in both the Panama Canal Zone and Germany as part of the Honor Guard.

A long time resident of Sharpsburg, Georgia, Pete shared a loving marriage of 68 years with his wife, Annette Winfrey Holland. Together they built a family that brought him immense joy and pride. He is survived by Lynn McElreath and her husband Earl; Tami Clay and Dean Carraway; Michelle McConnell and her husband Jason; granddaughters Regina Forrester and her husband Gary, Christina Challis and her husband Charles; grandson Nicholas Stowers; and great-granddaughter Peyton Challis. As well as one niece and two nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Linnis and Pearmon Holland; his brother Douglas Holland; and his sister Helen Tidwell. Despite these losses, Pete’s enduring spirit left an indelible mark on those who knew him.

Known for his uncanny sense of humor and sharp wit, Pete brought laughter to countless lives. His ability to find joy in the everyday made him beloved by many. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May Pete’s memory bring comfort to those who loved him as they celebrate a life well-lived.
