Henry Robert Jacques

Henry Robert Jacques, age 68, a resident of Goodyear, Arizona, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, in Goodyear, Arizona.

Henry was born on December 5, 1956, in Kirksville, Missouri, to William and Jeanette (Epperson) Jacques. He was a 1975 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He attended Central Methodist University and University of Missouri - Kansas City as a music major. Henry was united in marriage to Lesa Lee Newton on August 2, 1986 in Kansas City, Missouri. She survives of the home.

He was an accomplished trumpet player and a career musician. Henry played with Grace United Methodist Church in Olathe, Kansas and The Church of the Resurrection in Overland Park, Kansas. Henry was a skilled and intuitive trumpet player who’s music resonated with all who heard him, and he will be remembered for his exuberant personality and deep love of music. Henry shared his passion for music by offering private lessons, inspiring and nurturing a love of music in others. He was a spiritual man and involved in many church activities including playing his trumpet. He was an avid golfer, took his BBQing very seriously, and had an incredible sense of humor. He was a joyful father, his children were his greatest joy.

Henry is survived by his wife, Lesa; one daughter, Candice Jacques of Nashville, Tennessee; one son, Luke Jacques and wife, Savannah of Overland Park; three grandchildren, Anneliese Jacques, Hayes Jacques, and Parker Bicknell; one sister, Sandi Jacques of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanette Jacques and one brother, David Jacques. Four days after Henry’s passing, his father, William Jacques also passed.

Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, March 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 pm.
