Henry Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by B.E. Brown & Co Mortuary on Feb. 17, 2026.
Henry Howard Johnson III, aka Toot, graced us with his presence, two months early on February 25, 1984. A resident of Mobile, Alabama, born at USA Hospital.

Henry was a very active child who enjoyed running, playing, and having fun. That same energetic spirit carried him into his teenage years and young adulthood. He was always full of joy and laughter. Many described him as a sweet soul.

Henry loved organizing and rearranging things to his satisfaction. He wasn't big on change, just consistency. He loved doing laundry and going shopping.

Henry was baptized at an early age at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, located on 10th street in Mobile Terrace. He loved praising the Lord with a jump or leaps along with his one or two count hand claps.

His passions included listening to music with his headphones, watching tv, looking through and marking in books and eating. Some of his favorite movies included The Color Purple, The Ten Commandments, and The Jackson Five. His all-time favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz. As a toddler and a very young boy, his nighttime consolation was watching the Johnny Carson Show.

Henry attended the MARC School for Special Needs during His early childhood. Later, He enrolled at Augusta Evans School where he received his Certificate of Graduation on May 13, 2005. Henry was loved and adored by many of his teachers and classmates. During his schooling, he received many Certificates of Recognition to include many awards for Good Citizenship. Due to his obsession with phonebooks, he was given the Graduates Choice Award for "Most Likely to Work for the Phone Company". During his last year of school, he gained his independence when he became a resident of Pettway Residential, where he continued to thrive. Upon completion of school, he enrolled in various day programs for continuing education and self-enhancement. Henry was always a sweet and lovable person and knew how to get his way, with a grin or laugh that suggested, "The joke is on you."

Henry later became a resident of Scott Residential, where he resided until his passing.

Henry departed this life, carried by the Angels into the arms of God on February 8, 2026.
