Henry Canody McCraw, 83, of Forest, VA passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Born in Lynchburg on August 19, 1942, he was a son of the late Henry Douglas McCraw and Minnie Canody McCraw. He graduated from VMI in 1964 with a Civil Engineering Degree. He worked for Lynchburg Foundry for 26 years and retired from Alcoa Corporation. He was an avid sports fan, loved biking and reading.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Valerie Paulette McCraw as well as two daughters, Jennifer Lynn McCraw and Kathryn McCraw Baltzelle (Neil); three grandchildren, Stephen McCraw (Gina), Savannah Rivers, & Ethan Baltzell; two great-grandchildren, Sydney McCraw and Webb Bryant. He is also survived by his siblings, Douglas McCraw, Samuel McCraw, and Martha Wingfield (Clark).
A celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2025 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends and family an hour before the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please consider the Alan B Pearson Cancer Center, 1920 Atherholt Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
