Henry E. Oliver

Henry Edward Oliver, age 80, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 24, 2021 in El Paso, Texas. He was a wonderful husband, father, son and brother and will be greatly missed. Henry is preceded in death by his parents; Henry Oliver and Elvira Perez, and his sister; Mary Oliver Leistikow. He is survived by his beautiful wife; Maria G. (Lupe) Oliver, his beloved daughters; Elaine Oliver Geherty (Steve), Celina Marie Oliver Phillips (Vic) and Kathleen Oliver Atkins (Rick), his kind siblings; Robert Oliver, Rose Ferrales, and Jane Henson, his dearest grandchildren; Hayden Chase Phillips, Hunter Nash Phillips, and Josh Geherty (Amanda), and his great-grand daughter; Harper Geherty. He is also survived by many extended friends and family to cherish and honor his memory.
Henry graduated from Hatch Valley High School in 1959. He also attended Texas A&M University where he earned his Education Certification (EDUC). He worked as a certified boilermaker, pipefitter and welder and after retiring from the construction trades industry, he taught woodworking and industrial arts at Austin High School in El Paso, Texas. He served in the infantry of the U.S Army as a Sergeant E-5 and was a proud Vietnam Veteran.
A Holy Rosary will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 10:30am with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 324 Lincoln St., Anthony, NM. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, with Military Honors.
