Henry "Boy" Pina, 82 of New Bedford, passed away on November 28th at St. Luke's Hospital, after a period of declining health. Henry was born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Julia and Henry "Harry" Pina.
Henry was educated in New Bedford and worked at H. Loeb Textiles from the age of 17 until his retirement as a manager, 35 years later. He was a past Vice-President of the Cape Verdean Band Club and enjoyed music and dancing.
Henry is lovingly remembered by his children Yvonne Pina-Murphy and her husband Tom, of Wareham and Eric "Ali" Easton of Florida, his brother Larry and his wife Dana of New Bedford, sisters, Linda Pina-Walcott and husband Leroy, Colleen Pina-Garron and her husband Christopher of New Bedford, Doreen Pina-Pena of No. Carolina and Gail Pina-Crosby of Dartmouth, 4 grandchildren Angelica Johnson, Cesaria Ali Easton-Garcia, Khalil Ali Easton, Laillah Ali Easton and 7 great-grandchildren, Payton Ussery, Ashton Sirmans and Aspen Sirmans, Kira and Kai Lequeux, Elijah Tafoya, and Nyeli Estime-Ali. Henry is also survived by his lifelong friend Robin Ashley-Ribeiro, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, who will all forever hold his memory close.
He was the grandfather of the late Ashlee Andrade and the brother of the late Cynthia Lobo and Loretta "Lolly" Silva.
In accordance with his wishes, his funeral and burial at St. John's Cemetery will be private.
