Mr. Henry Shackleford, 87, of Nashville, GA, passed away Friday July 5, 2013 at his home. He was born on February 26, 1926 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to the late Frank Richard Shackleford, Sr. and Daisy Luna Jarvis Shackleford. He lived most of his life in Madison, FL, and Cook and Berrien Counties. Mr. Shackleford was a member of Adel First Baptist Church. He was retired from Harvey's Grocery Store where he worked as produce manager. He also served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Shackleford is survived by his wife, Jenelle B. Shackleford of Nashville, GA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Daryll and Gail Shackleford of Nashville, GA, and Ricky Shackleford of Fairburn, GA; two grandchildren: Misty Stover of Chattanooga, TN, and Michael Shackleford, Jr. of Aiea, HI; and four great-grandchildren: Damien, Mason, Brooke and Meagan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Shackleford. The Shackleford family received friends Sunday evening, July 7, 2013 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel. The funeral service was held Monday July 8, 2013 at 11 AM at Adel First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Marlette officiating. Interment took place after the service at 2:30 PM at Pine Grove Cemetery in Madison, FL. Damien Rogers, Bobby Caraway, Keith Mudler, Randy Salano, Stephen Rogers, and Jody Greene served as pallbearers; Randy Burnett, Ben Greene, Jimmy Purvis, David Fausett, A.T. Bragdon, Sonny Vining and the Men's Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Sheila Humber played the piano and sang "Jesus Loves Me," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," and "It Is Well With My Soul."
