Funeral service for Henry Arthur "Hank" Sprado, 79, of Decatur will be Saturday, July 5, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. at Calvary Assembly of God with Bro. George Sawyer officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Sprado died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at his residence, and has now gone to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Dourtmondt, Germany, to August Sprado and Elfreida Hartwig Sprado. Mr. Sprado was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired following 34 years of service as a mechanical engineer with Amoco (BP).
He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Orr Sprado; one son, Douglas Henry Sprado of Kerrville, Texas; three daughters, Patricia Louise Cox of Dallas, Texas, Barbara Jo Graham of Ooltewah, Tenn., and Jill Diane Sprado of Oakland, Calif.; two brothers, Frederick Sprado of Putman Valley, N.Y., and Carl Sprado of Vero Beach, Fla.; one sister, Elfreida Sprado of Yorktown, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be friends, Mike Harris, Hal Thompson, Tim Tuggle, Stefen Graham, Patrick McNiel and Bill Welch.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley or Calvary Assembly of God.
