Henry Traczynski

Henry Traczynski (Sonny), age 86, of Warren, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
Born on December 13, 1938, in Hamtramck, Michigan. Henry was a graduate of St. Ladislaus High School. He married the love of his life, Susan Shirley Schaffer on May 1, 1965 and shared a devoted life together until her passing on January 28, 2016.
In 1957, Henry proudly answered the call to serve his country in the United States Air Force. After completing his military service, he embarked on a long and dedicated career as a gauge engineer with General Dynamics where was a proud member of the UAW.
Henry was a man of many passions. An avid coin collector, he delighted in discovering pieces with stories to tell. His deep interest in genealogy led him to spend countless hours uncovering the intricacies of his family's history. Whether hunting for treasures at garage sales, enjoying a trip to the casino or savoring a great meal with loved ones, Henry embraced life with enthusiasm.
Henry is survived by his children, Keith Traczynski, Kelly Noetzel, Kirk (Jaime) Traczynski, and Kyle (Erin) Traczynski; his sister, Diane Dalton; and his 14 beloved grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Henrietta Magiera.
Visitation for Henry will take place on Wednesday, November 19 from 4pm to 8pm at Verheyden Funeral Home, 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park. He will lie instate on Thursday, November 20 from 10 am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at St. Clare of Montefalco, 1401 Whittier, Grosse Pointe Park. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
