Herbert Bing

Herbert Duane Bing was born in Keighley, Kansas, on June 26, 1935, to Clyde Herbert Bing and Lillian Inez Bing. He graduated from Latham High School at the age of 16. Duane married Martha Kofoid on July 18, 1958, while on leave from the US Army, and they were married for almost 67 years. They made their first home in San Antonio, Texas, where they welcomed their daughter Pam. Upon completion of his military service, they moved to Kansas where his son Doug was born. He worked in farming, welding, ultimately retiring as a maintenance supervisor. Duane was active in his community, serving on the Enterprise Fire Department and the city council. He was a member of the Enterprise Seventh-day Adventist church serving in various roles. A long-time resident of Enterprise Kansas, Duane died on June 22, 2025, a few days shy of his ninetieth birthday. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Joan Price, and his brother, Don. Survivors include his wife Martha of Enterprise, daughter Pam Bing Perry, her husband Rick Perry, of Billings, Montana, son Doug Bing, his wife Wilma, of Lake Tapps, Washington along with three grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Graveside Services will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Mount Hope Cemetery south of Enterprise. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to Enterprise SDA Pathfinders through the Enterprise SDA Church or to Dickinson County Hospice.
