Herbert E. Clair, of Bensalem, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and kindness.
Born on December 26, 1928, in Pottstown, PA, Herbert was the son of the late Marie (Schlegel) and Earl T. Clair. A proud veteran, he served honorably in the United States Army as a Corporal. Upon returning home, he devoted his life to what mattered most—his family.
Herbert was the beloved husband of the late Jane (Beyerle) Clair. Married for many wonderful years until her passing in 2014, the two were inseparable and shared a bond built on deep affection and unwavering companionship.
He was a hard worker and an even harder lover of life. Herbert found his greatest joy in time spent with family—especially his five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who brought light to his later years. He cherished their days together at the shore and delighted in sharing with them his love for the music of the 1930s and 1940s. Those who knew Herbert will remember him as a gentle soul who never hesitated to lend a helping hand.
He is now reunited with his darling wife, Jane and beloved daughter Jinny; brother, Earl T. Clair and sister, Evelyn Destephano.
Herbert is survived by his adoring daughter Denise; his son-in-law John who was married to Jinny, along with the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who made his life so full. He is also survived by his loving sister, Melva Bechler.
Family and friends are invited to honor Herbert’s life and legacy on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, followed by his funeral service starting at 11:00 AM, both held at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 65 E Street Rd., Feasterville-Trevose, PA 19053. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, also in Feasterville-Trevose.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church located at 65 E Street Rd, Feasterville-Trevose, PA 19053 in memory of a man who gave so much to those around him.
