Newcomer Funeral Home - Northeast Chapel - ColumbusHerbert Lee Coffield of Pataskala, Ohio, passed in the arms of his Savior and Lord Jesus on November 25th, 2025. He was born on August 21st, 1942, to the late Thomas Earl and Helen (Clark) Coffield in St. Clairsville, Ohio. He graduated St. Clairsville High School in 1960 and received his B.S. degree from The Ohio State University in 1970. Herb retired after 40 years of service from Western Electric/AT&T. He then retired again after 20 years of service with Jersey Baptist Church, Metro Columbus Baptist Association, and Brookside Baptist Church. Herb was a long-time member of Jersey Baptist Church and a faithful servant to the Lord. He will be remembered for his generosity, kind heart, and devotion to his family.
Herb was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Judy Coffield; sisters, Mary-Ann Coffield and Jane Green; brothers, Al Coffield and Jesse Coffield; sister-in-laws, Jean Coffield and Jane Coffield.
Herb is survived by children, Kate Coffield and Brent (Krissy) Coffield; grandchildren, Lindsay Nebbergall, Collin (Niamh) Coffield, Connor Coffield, Tony Nebbergall, Krislyn Crosby, Blade McKee, Weston Mckee; great-grandchildren, Lilah Nebbergall, Finn Nebbergall, Carson Kelso, Addilynn Kelso, and Scarlett Lahmann; brother, Harry Coffield; sister-in-laws, Donna Coffield, Bonnie Coffield, and Gert Eyeman, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Jersey Baptist Church, 13260 Morse Rd., New Albany, OH 43045 on Monday, December 8th, 2025 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am.
