Sharon Baker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Lindsey Chapel on Feb. 10, 2026.
After a period of declining health following a stroke, Sharon Sue Taylor Baker (68) passed away in the early hours of February 6th, 2026, in comfort and peace.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Blaine and Betty Taylor of Wooster. Her brother Brian Taylor of Land O' Lakes Florida. She is survived by husband Neal "Cy" Baker, children Michelle (Aaron) D'Amico and Cabot (Melissa) Baker; and grandchildren Mairi D'Amico, Genevieve D'Amico, Quinn D'Amico, Skylar Baker, and Logan Baker; and sister Kathy (Bill) Greene, sister-in-law Teri (Paul) Kominski, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.

Sharon was born and raised in Wooster, Ohio and graduated with the Wooster class of 1975. After briefly attending Ohio State University, Sharon married Neal Baker before moving down to Lakeville. They worked as dairy farmers several years before welcoming their children, Michelle, then Cabot, into the world. After the birth of her children, Sharon returned to school to pursue a career in Early Childhood Education. She received her degree from Ashland University before joining the Loudonville-Perrysville School District at McMullen Elementary. Sharon worked in kindergarten, first, and second grade. She earned her master's from Marygrove College and earned numerous distinctions throughout her career. She was a passionate teacher and could always be found in her classroom hours after school ended, and throughout the summer. She believed that every little person in her care deserved love and attention. She retired in 2018 after serving 27 years at the district.

In addition to her teaching career, Sharon owned and managed Secluded Cabins, Secluded Cabins Event Center, and Baker Family Farms alongside with her husband and family. It was common to find her working in the flowerbeds, meeting with brides, or helping to plan events. A hostess to the core, Sharon loved to welcome anyone and everyone to her home. She took pride in holding celebrations of every type and had immense satisfaction from the enjoyment others received at those events.

In her retirement Sharon was thrilled to travel with friends and spend time with her grandchildren. While she was proud to continue to volunteer at the schools and in town, her joy was her family. As "Grammie," she could always be counted on to cheer her grandkids on. Whether it was a music program, a tap and tumble recital, or a soccer game, she was there-proudly watching with a smile, endless love, and a few chocolate coins tucked in her pocket.

Her family will be holding a memorial and fellowship on February 28th, at her home church, Oak Chapel Methodist Church in Wooster Ohio. Memorial Service will begin at 10:30 am and in true Sharon fashion, all are welcome. Fellowship will follow in the basement where stories and memories are encouraged to be shared.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Loudonville-Perrysville School Foundation, or to Loudonville-Perrysville McMullen Elementary School are encouraged. Donations can be mail to Snyder Funeral Home- Lindsey Chapel, 123 N. Market Street, Loudonville, OH 44842 or they can be made at the church on the day of service.
