Herbert W. "Satchie" Daniels Jr.

Herbert W. Daniels, Jr., 98, of Brooks Estate, Pittston, formerly of Plymouth, went home to his Lord on Sunday, August 10th 2025.

"Satchie", as he was known to his friends, was born in Plymouth on August 1st, 1927, son of the late Herbert and Stella Powell Daniels. He was a graduate of Plymouth High School Class of 1945 and soon after enlisted in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge, he began his career as an accountant for J.B. Post Co. He later became comptroller for Bergman's Dept. Store for 19 years and retired in 1991 from a position with the state. He really enjoyed singing and was an active member of the Wyoming Valley Barbershop Society for 60 years.

In addition to his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, the former Elsie Jones, brother William, sisters Dorothy Reese and Audrey Miller, nephew Garry Daniels and son-in-law Tony Kempinski.

Left to cherish his memory are daughters Deborah Swan (John), Cynthia Perlick (George) and Pamela Kempinski (Tony); five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.

Family and friends are invited from 12 to 1 PM on Saturday, August 16th to Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.

Memorial service will be held at the funeral home immediately following visitation hours at 1 PM, with Pastor Gideon Gaitano, officiating.
