Herbert "Scott" Fritts passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Scott lived his life filled with love for his family and friends and will be remembered as a selfless, thoughtful, and truly good man. The best they come.

Scott is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lena, and their three cherished children: Garren, Jena, and Sasha. He is also survived by his brothers, Brad Fritts and Jeffrey Fritts. He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Fritts and his parents, Marilyn and Herbert Fritts.

Born on February 22, 1956, Scott grew up in Chatham Township, NJ, in a lively household of four boys. At Chatham Township High School he played football and pole vaulted, and he spent his summers lifeguarding at Clover Hill Club and Noe Pond Club. He later served his community as a volunteer EMT with the Chatham Township Emergency Squad. Scott graduated from Susquehanna University where he played football and rugby and continued to contribute to the University as an alumni donor.

After college, Scott led specialty lines and underwriting operations at AIG, where he met Lena. They married in 1989 in New York City and ultimately settled in Darien, CT, where they built their life together. Scott went on to have a 17-year career at Gulf Insurance Group (Travelers) serving as Executive Vice President. His proudest professional achievement came later, as Co-Founder and Chairman of BlueChip Underwriting Services. Scott loved his BlueChip team.

Above all else, Scott was a family man. His greatest joy came from being present for his children, and he never missed a moment to cheer them on. A true women's lacrosse superfan, Scott proudly followed Jena at Cal and Sasha at Colby, traveling coast to coast to watch them play. When he wasn't in the lacrosse stands, he was at Lehigh for Garren's hockey games or at hockey tournaments with Sasha. And if Scott was there, you knew it - his signature whistle, a reminder of his constant, enthusiastic support. That same support carried into every corner of their lives, from the field or rink to their careers and personal milestones.

Scott's circle of love extended wide, from family to friends to his deep connections across the Darien community. He served as a volunteer adult advisor for Post 53 EMS and was passionate about paddle and tennis, even known to study YouTube clips on paddle strategy. Beyond Post and the courts, Scott loved house music, a good glass of red wine, family dinners and trips, and, most of all, time with those he loved most. He had a gift for showing others how to truly enjoy life - even in the most challenging times.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Memorial Sloan Kettering in Scott's honor, supporting brain cancer research and new treatment development or Post 53 in Darien, CT supporting local emergency medical services.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Scott's life during a funeral service on Tuesday, August 26th, at 11:00 AM at Noroton Presbyterian Church, 2011 Post Road, in Darien, CT.
