Herbert Elmore Raheming

Herbert Elmore Raheming, born on September 23, 1946, to Helen and Herbert Rahming in Tavares, Florida, passed away on December 22, 2025, after a long battle with several health problems at St. Vincent Hospital, Riverside.

Herbert Raheming graduated from Bates Ave High School in 1964. Served in the US Air Force and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class, where he worked in the Air Defense and Controls Division. In 1967, Herbert Raheming chose a new journey in life and was married to Bertha (Chester) Raheming on October 19, 1967. Then in 1969, both Herbert and Bertha Raheming were dedicated in water baptism as Jehovah's Witnesses. Herbert began full-time Auxiliary Pioneering and teaching Bible students, teaching others the Bible, and aiding several in becoming baptized Witnesses. He worked diligently in the Jehovah's Witness organization to become a ministerial servant and then an elder in the late 70's, rising to presiding overseer over the Parkway and Riverview congregation.

He also served as an Elder in the OLA McDonough congregation. Then he and his wife relocated to St. John's, Florida, where he served as an elder in the Mill Creek Congregation. In his professional life, he worked for the City of Trenton Board of Education for over 30 years, retiring as the Network Manager for the IT department for all Trenton schools. Herbert enjoyed swimming, riding motor scooters and motorcycles, creating several art drawings and paintings, writing poetry, watching football games, and traveling with family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his father, Herbert Rahming; his daughter, Darlene Raheming; his sister, Paula Hicks; and his mother, Helen Hicks.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 58 years Bertha Raheming, his beloved Aunt Rose Bud Pollard (Leon) (deceased), siblings Alice Boyd (Josephus) (deceased), Charles Rahming (Priscilla), Gail Galbreath (Tony), Malcom Rahming (Linda), Michael Williams (Veronica), Eric Williams, and Mark Anthony Williams (Zoey). Two Children, Lori Raheming (Thomas Crocker) and Herbert Phillip Raheming (Aja Raheming), and seven grandchildren: Xavien, Thomas, Kara, Elijah, Laila, Makeda, Jacob, two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Autumn, and a host of nieces and nephews, close family, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses: Durbin Creek, Mill Creek, and Saint Augustine North, 2924 FL-16, St. Augustine, FL 32092.
