February 17, 1953 – June 2, 2025 Herbert Richardson Jr., 72, of Johnston County, North Carolina, peacefully transitioned from this life on June 2, 2025. Born on February 17, 1953, to the late Herbert Richardson Sr. and Margaret Richardson, Herbert lived a life full of quiet strength, independence, and purpose.
A proud graduate of North Johnston High School, Herbert stood out as an all-star athlete during his high school years. He later became a talented mechanic, known for his skill, reliability, and hands-on wisdom. Whether under the hood of a car or offering a helping hand, Herbert had a way of showing love through action.
He was a beloved brother to Jessie Mae (Bo Chatman), Linwood Richardson, Gary D. Richardson, and Earl Dickerson (Bernice), and is also survived by six cherished aunts and uncles.
Herbert was the proud father of five children: April Dublin, Ebony Dublin, Lakeisha Watson, Amanda Lynn, and Daniel. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren and a large extended family of nieces and nephews-too many to count but each one special to him.
He lived his life exactly the way he wanted-on his own terms. A quiet man full of life, Herbert never needed the spotlight to shine. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
"It isn't flesh & blood but the heart and lessons taught are what make us Father & Child".
