Herbert Marvin Skaggs, 93, of Memphis Tennessee died in Germantown, Tennessee on November 16, 2025. He was born in Memphis Tennessee in 1931 to Herbert and Essie Skaggs.
He graduated from Treadwell High School, served in the Army in the Korean Conflict, and then graduated from Memphis State University with a degree in Business Administration. He began work at Associates Capitol in Memphis as the manager of their loan office. He later worked for the Commercial Appeal as a credit manager where he retired in 1996.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Herbert Skaggs and Essie Skaggs, and is survived by his wife Carolyn Skaggs and daughter Sandra Benson (David) and granddaughter Hannah.
There will be a visitation on Friday November 21st from 1:00 - 2:00 with a graveside following the visitation at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Marvins's wish was for support to be directed to Evangelical Christian School or Love Worth Finding, both of these organizations were close to his heart.
