Herbert Edward Weeks Sr.

Mr. Herbert Edward Weeks Sr. was born October 13, 1939 in Miami, Fl to the late Robert Edward Weeks and Lillian Eleanor Bethea Weeks Tucker. He was united in marriage to the former Rachel Melton on March 7, 1964. The union of these two was blessed with one son, Herbert Edward Weeks Jr. He spent his working life working primarily in construction as a roofer. Mr. Weeks enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors. When he was able, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, flying model airplanes, and had a great love for animals. He was a talented man and one could often see that talent demonstrated when he would play his harmonica. Mr. Weeks was especially partial to children and enjoyed entertaining them and seeing them smile. He was a man of devout faith which led to be a proud member of Trinity Assembly of God. Mr. Weeks departed this life on Saturday, November 29, 2025 making his stay in this life some 86 years, 1 month, and 16 days.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of over 61 years, Rachel Melton Weeks; one son, Herbert Edward Weeks Jr. and wife Jacqueline all of Decaturville, TN; one brother David Weeks and wife Beverly of Sebring, FL; two sisters, Thelma Miller; Mary Weeks both of Tazewell, TN; Mr. Weeks is also survived by three grandchildren, Caleb McCullers and wife Hailey of Okeechobee, FL; Herbert Edward Weeks III; Lillian Shyanne Weeks both of Decaturville, TN; and two great grandchildren, Weston Lane Harris; Blake Jade McCullers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert Hugh Weeks; Buddy Weeks; Darrell Weeks and Gary Smith.

Visitation with the Weeks family will be on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Reed's Chapel in Decaturville and again on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM at Trinity Assembly of God.

Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Trinity Assembly of God with Keith Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity Cemetery.
