Herman "Lee" Bigsby, 84, of Prairie City, Illinois passed away at 3:20 am on Sunday March 31, 2024. He was born January 3, 1940 to Archie and Lulu (Neese) Bigsby. He married Barbara J. Hall on June 27, 1990 in Bushnell, IL. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2008.
Surviving are four children, Terri Baylor of Prairie City, IL; April (Brian) Schultz of Prairie City, IL; Arthur (Sarah) Bigsby of Bushnell, IL; Candy (Rotelio) Vaca of Harrisburg, MO; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons, Jonny and Russel Bigsby, daughter, Tina Pilkington, four siblings, Levi and Jack Bigsby, Betty Craig and Faye Hall; and a special friend Hazel Gossage.
Lee lived and breathed farming his entire life. He was a simple man with a big heart, always willing to help others. He could always be found outside, working or just tinkering on his old tractors and mowers. He also had a soft spot for his beloved dogs.
Cremation Rites were accorded by Martin-Hollis Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday April 13, 2024 at the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, with Rev. Todd Rodeffer officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family of Lee Bigsby. Please sign the guestbook and leave condolences at www.martinhollisfh.com
