Herman Pickett Obituary

Mary Lee (Powers) Pickett. Herman was raised and attended school in Eastman,
Georgia.
Herman had Sisters; Rosa Pickett, Odessa Pickett Hill, Johnny Mae Pickett
McMullan, 1 Brother; W. C. Pickett and many special friends. Mr. Herman came from a
very large family throughout the United States. The youngest, Mr. Herman, enjoyed and
took pleasure being around his siblings, cousins and his school friends. In 1971, He
joined and served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. After leaving the Army,
being an adventurous man, Herman came back to the U.S. and traveled and worked
many jobs in Detroit, Canada, Kentucky, the West Coast/other states.
During Herman travels, he entertained a hobby of collecting old coins. He also amused himself in
watching classic movies, game shows and especially lotto tickets. Mr. Pickett had a
gentle demeanor which everyone that he met took him as a friend. Finally, Herman
settled down in the small city of Seffner, Florida which he called home for over forty-five
years, he made numerous friends that he called family.
Mr. Pickett will leave to Cherish fond Memories Wife; Velma Wilcher-Pickett family: 1
Son; Minister Herman L. Pickett, 1 Grandson; Jonathan Pickett (Vanna); 2 Great-
granddaughters; Jenovah, Y'Honesty; 1 Daughter; Altovise (Toby Murray) George/Don,
2 Granddaughters; Parris George, Roslyn Vertus, 1 Great- granddaughter; Noelle Mack.
A Host of other sorrowing Relatives, Friends, and loved ones.
Visitation Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Apostles Foundation Church of Jesus Christ Inc.
920 N. Parsons Ave. Seffner, Florida 33684, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Before the Service.
Family and Friends are asked to assemble at Church 10:15 a.m. on Saturday May 17,
2025, for the Service.
