Herman was 12 when I was born, so he referred to me as his baby sister. I remember he was always a doer, never sitting still, and funny as anything. When I was about 15 or so, he took me on vacation with him, Al, Roxane, Michelle and their mom to Disneyland. I was so excited to see a part of the U.S. I had never seen before. Today, it is so common to do that sort of thing, but this happened in 1964 or so, and it was such a treat. It really opened my eyes what the world offered outside of Martinez, Tx. There are also other ways he helped me, and I will always cherish the love he has shown to me and my daughters, Tamara and Tiffany. I will miss you so much, Herman, and I love you with all my heart. Rest in Peace.

There are so many great memories of my Uncle Herman. I´ll share just a few:
Our Smoky Mountain Christmas: our epic snowball fight, him saying, "Shut that damn kid up" on the flight and that kid not making a sound the rest of the flight. Those seated around chuckled and were also grateful.
He celebrated me receiving my first speeding ticket, which I received on my way down to the Valley. He gave me the biggest hug, said he was so proud of me, and told me we would go anywhere I wanted for dinner to celebrate.
Him and Jason singing Confederate Railroad´s Trashy Women at the top of their lungs while on our way to dinner. I still think of that to this day every time I hear that song.
When I asked him the difference between a farm road and a ranch road, and, without missing beat, he said, "On a ranch road, the houses are bigger".
He taught me so many things over the years. I will never forget my Uncle Herman and the time he so generously spent with me.
You will be greatly missed.

Awesome guy with an infectious personality that filled the room!! Loved his family, loved to fish and loved his dog!!! Herman gave so many practical, real-life proverbs: "there are only two categories of women: liability or an asset!!" You will be missed Herman. Thoughts, love & prayers are with Carol (Mama Skloss), Jason, Gina & all the rest of the family.
