Hermann F. Sonon

Hermann F. Sonon, 93, of Shoemakersville passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at home. Born in Reading, he was the youngest of six children of the late Albert T. and Anna M. (Dornbaugh) Sonon. Herm was the husband of the late June Sonon with whom he shared 32 loving years of marriage. He was employed at Birch Hill Foundry until his retirement. His interests included watching the Pirates, Steelers, and other sports, playing cards and board games with family and friends, gardening, golfing, and bowling where he rolled games of 299 and 300. He was an avid dog lover. Herm loved going to the beach at Long Beach Island, NJ with family and friends. He will be fondly remembered as the favorite uncle, having picnics at his home for his entire family. He is survived by his longtime, loving and faithful partner, Evelyn Riegel and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Laureldale Cemetery Chapel with interment to follow. The viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
